We are currently searching for STAR member facilities to co-host our regional training programs this coming summer. New for 2012, STAR will conduct (2) CIT and (1) CRA class at each co-host location allowing rink professionals to participate in training programs with an emphasis on operations or management.
The three courses below make up the Certified Ice Technician (CIT) professional designation, which is recognized by the National Hockey League (NHL). The following 4-day educational courses will be conducted exclusively at STAR member facilities in 2012.
• Ice Maintenance and Equipment Operation (IMEO)
• Ice Making and Painting Technologies (IMPT)
• Basic Refrigeration (BR)
The three courses below make up the Certified Rink Administrator (CRA) professional designation. The following 3-day educational courses will be conducted exclusively at STAR member facilities in 2012.
• Human Resource Management (HRM)
• Operations and Risk Management (ORM)
• Programming, Marketing and Promotions (PMP)
If your facility is interested in co-hosting, click the .PDF document below to download the 2012 Regional Training Co-Host Application. Complete the application and submit to STAR. The deadline for co-hosting applications is January 31, 2012. STAR facilities selected to co-host in 2012 will be announced in the March/April edition of RINK Magazine along with the complete 2012 Regional Training Program schedule.
If your facility is not chosen to be a co-host this year, you still have the opportunity to bring a STAR “guaranteed” training program to your facility. STAR can conduct any of the CIT or CRA courses listed above, or the one-day Safe Ice Resurfacer Operation (SIRO) course at your facility for a set price on dates that work best for you and your staff.
For more information on the regional training co-host or the “guaranteed” training programs, please contact Cory Portner at 719-538-1111 or coryp@starrinks.com.
